A 1/6 share in the privately run 'Sticky' syndicate is now available. This Bavaria 36 is in excellant condition throughout & is the twin cabin version. The yacht is berthed at Holmeport Marina at Church Point on Sydney's Pittwater.
Apart from the first twelve months, the yacht has been privately syndicated for its entire life & the original owner has always been a syndicate member. The boat is not raced, either competitively or socially. The yacht is primarily used in Pittwater & has had an easy life.
The usage roster is a real feature. Every six weeks each owner has use of the boat for four days, from Friday to Monday inclusive. The other three days, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday are flexible for any owner to book. This is done via a Google Drive calender. As all owners are busy professionals, these three flexible days are nearly always available. So it is possible to bookend the Friday to Monday slot with the flexible days, giving ten days in total.
The monthly contribution is $350 per member, which covers all running costs, including, marina berth, insurance, regular progammed servicing, slipping, antifouling, hull polishing & other one off jobs that from time to time need attention. Each owner leaves the boat in a clean & tidy condition for the next owner & this system works extremely well. There has recently been discussions to increase this monthly contribution to $400, to cover inflationary rising costs.
Regarding the dinghies, one of the owners has kindly donated his dinghy, a Marine Tech 2.4m, which is left on board. It stows neatly into a bag (see photos). Alternatively, or as well as, I have a Zodiac 3.1m, which has a four section ply floor. I've recently spend $480 for new valves (3) & air leak repairs. I'm happy to sell this dinghy for the repair cost only (see photos).
This is very professionally & astutely run syndicate, where shares change hands infrequently. The last member to join is a qualified marine engineer, an asset for any yacht syndicate. I have simply run out of sailing partners due to their other ongoing commitments, & do not wish to sail on my own.
