50% share in new Beneteau First 36.
The Beneteau First 36 is an ideal racer/cruiser for Sydney Harbour. At just 4.8 tonnes, its got a lot more zap than the Oceanis yachts, but its got a more comfort than a pure race yacht.
My wife and I want a yacht that we can not only race competitively, but also enjoy sailing on our own and with non sailor friends mid week.
Being retired, a partnership makes sense to my wife and I for a few reasons:
+ we are away 3-4 months a year
+ we only want to use it mid week and Friday night twilight racing, and perhaps the odd day only offshore race.
+ we don't need it on the weekends or for school holidays
+ we want to keep it at Clontarf Marina - going 50/50 on berthing fees makes that feasible, and a marina is a lot more convient than a mooring.
We will place an order once we find a like minded partner. I expect the purchase cost, along with sails, insurance and set up will be around $680,000. I estimate the annual marina berthing, insurance, antifoul, service and maintenance will be $30,000 pa, $15,000 each.
A formal agreement between the parties makes sense. I have found an off the shelf agreement that looks like a good starting point.
Check out the spec at https://www. Beneteau. Com/first/first-36. There are also some good YouTubes.
Please give me a call on my mobile if interested.
