Cervantes 2 is a "Nantucket 33" 34-foot fibreglass cruising yacht built in 1982. With classic lines and comfortable wooden interior, it's easily sailed by 2 people and offers sleeping for up to 7. These yachts were designed for Whitsunday chartering featuring 2 cabins (one aft, one forward), galley with fridge/oven, toilet/shower/hot water and generous saloon with seating for 10, or 3 saloon berths. Original portholes and 3 overhead deck hatches provide excellent year-round ventilation.
Cervantes 2 is well maintained with a 30hp Yanmar diesel engine (2022), new S/S rigging (2025), furling genoa & easily reefed mainsail less than 5 years old, Muir anchor winch & chain, 3 metre tender with outboard, chart plotter, VHF DSC radio & EPIRB. A kayak is stored on deck for member use.
The Cervantes syndicate is a successful, self-managed group of 10 members. Owners are eligible for 4 weeks of sailing, with an annual fee decided by AGM due 1st March. Approx. $3,000 in recent years.
